Problem Statement
The primary care facility is located on the 14th floor of an existing hospital building. With an open mind to either a full renovation or partial renovation, they are looking to enhance their client experience through design. With the request of a spa-like environment with access to amenities to create the sense of homefulness. The space must accommodate room for growth from volume- based care to value- based care.
Goals
- To create a space that is as calm and relaxing for guests to feel as if they are visiting a spa.
- To create a functional design which will enhance the overall experience for not only guests but staff as well.
- To create a flexible and functional design to allow for the clinic to grow within the space.
- To design a space that people want to keep coming back to visit.
Objectives
- The space will feel calm and relaxing through the color pallet. The color pallete consists of natural and organic colors- Green, Orange and Grey will be the most dominant in the space. These colors were selected for their physiological association. The color Orange brings on Confidence making people feel cheerful, happy and friendly. The color Green creates a sense of peace by being vital, organic and prosperous. The color Grey creates a sense of balance while being prestigious, peaceful and calm.
- Designing a space focusing on your guests' experience is important but designing a space for your staff is equally if not more important as they are the roots that keep your company standing and growing. So this design will provide a functional floor plan layout that will provide guests a sense of independence which will feel as if you aren't even at the doctor. The staff will be provided with the appropriate amenities to allow them to feel their best and work their best.
- This design will be flexible and functional through space planning and furniture selections. Creating a space plan that allows for growth of the company will be one of the main focuses. Selecting timeless furniture pieces and material selections will help with achieving this goal.
- Designing a space that people want to continually come back too. This is important in a medical space because you want people to take care of themselves and take their health seriously. Creating a space that is more of a hospitality environment rather than a hostile healthcare environment will help achieve this goal.
